The Lazy Gramophone collective once again brings you a multifarious night of music, spoken word, theatre, art displays and DJ music all for charity. This highly charged night will see a battle of Pip Vs PIP with friendly fire from other spoken word artists that could blow the roof off. Featuring - Scroobius Pip Vs A Poem InBetween People, Simon Gibson/Pax band/no chance milega, NeveroddoreveN, Polar Bear, Ventriloquist, Gypsy Girl, Matt Black, Tom Harris, Cathrine Martindale, and Kate Tempest. Plus free body painting for early guests.
The Story Factory with Jacob Ross

A one-off workshop with Centerprise Literature's resident tutor. Stuck for writing ideas? Finding it difficult to move beyond the first page of your story? Can't find an ending? This one day workshop is designed for writers who are experiencing difficulty with progressing their writing and want to learn long-term, practical and creative techniques for developing half-finished or incomplete work. Through exercises and presentations, the session will help you with tips, practices and techniques that should prove invaluable to any writer experiencing 'dead-end' periods in their writing, or those wanting to learn interesting ways of generating and pursuing story ideas. The Story Factory is a practical opportunity to learn to develop and maintain direction in your writing.
Clown in the Mouth

The country's only museum dedicated to clowns and their history throws open its doors for a very special festival event. Trace the path of clowning through a maze of pictures, costumes and props while watching performances from poets and comedians to celebrate the Clowns International 60th Birthday.
Performances on the hour:
1pm - Simon Munnery: the mind and body behind Alan Parker: Urban Warrior, The League Against Tedium and Buckethead.
'One of the most original and talented comics in the country' - The Observer.
2pm - The Fix: the editor of the UK's only national magazine dedicated to stand-up comedy gives a half-hearted talk about failure, if nothing goes wrong in the meantime.
3pm - Hugo Williams: the acclaimed literary journalist and award winning poet, T.S. Eliot Prize and Queen's Gold Medal, reads a new work about the clown Grimaldi.
4pm - Andrew Bailey: comic sonic mayhem from the avant-popster comedian's comedian.
